Easy round Mortonhall. Hip was very sore after run yesterday for a wee while. Eventually I moved and there was a big clicking noise as something shifted and then it felt great. Not really sure what to make of that.

Was a bit of a numpty near the garden centre. There's some construction stuff going on near it. Went to cut through a gap between a lampost and a bit of fencing not noticing the head height bit of string connecting them. Ran straight into it and got a fat lip for my troubles. Lots of witnesses too. Not my finest moment

Session in the research park. The loop round I used for threshold intervals a few weeks ago is very nearly a mile long (~0.96 miles) so did 5 reps of it. Good wee group with Juan, Sean and Olivier. Running quite well. Juan came with me for the first couple but dropped off during the third.

Happy with the consistency. Works out as about 5:20min/mile or 3:20min/km

4 reps up Blackford each from a different direction. Figured it would be a bit easier mentally than up and down the same bit of hill. Quite good fun. Reps ranged from just under 3 mins to 4:30. Legs a bit heavy on the steeper stuff but decent overall.

Haven't managed to do as much hill work as I really wanted to in the run up to Carnethy but I'm definitely running quite well by my standards so will hopefully be alright

Carrnethy 5 recce. Road was shut so wound up running from quite far out. Annoyingly there was nothing going on near Silverburn and there were loads of cars parked near the start so could have done that anyway. Happy to do a bit more today anyway. Couldn't find the trod on the way up Scald law as always. Hip not happy in the tussocks and deep snow coming off west kip so decided to miss out the carnethy descent and just went over the col. Slightly grim weather so keen to get the road section over with. Was running along quite comfortable at about 6:30 pace

Hip feeling a lot better today and not feeling anything on the warm up. Something not too strenuous to see if it reacts. Feeling pretty good after some very easy days and running well. Hip felt good too

Not quite as good. Hip a bit sore in the last 15 minutes particularly on the hill in the final mile. Not sure if it was the uphill doing it or if this was just a bit too long for it at the moment. Still better than yesterday and eased off nicely with a bit of stretching
